No new posts East Dean Archive Project for 2008
EAST DEAN ARCHIVE PROJECT The East Dean Archive Project was launched to the village on Monday 12th November 2007. Nearly 50 residents came to a meeting in our refurbished village hall to find out about this exciting new project and to view Colonel Ransome’s cine film (now on DVD) of the village in 1970’s. Short presentations were made to explain the plans and the format that this project will take. It is intended to be a community project, involving anyone who lives in East Dean and who has lived there in the past or has close connections with and memories of the village. This is something we can all share in. We now have about 20 “co-ordinators” – that is people who will each take a particular area or subject and will gather information in a variety of forms, which can be recorded or archived. This is not an “official” history project. It is very much an amateur effort, with no firm time limit, and most importantly, is intended to be fun. However, it is our intention to collect most of our material during 2008. In the meantime if you wish to be involved in any way, or have some interesting information or memories that you can share with us, we will be delighted to receive it. So if you now live outside the UK or elsewhere in the country and would like to contribute your memories and information please take the opportunity to use our message board below or alternatively send an email to the.gibbards@virgin.net Archive Link Co-ordinators: +44 (0)1243 Janet Holt 811257 Martin Gibbard 811397 Kate Shaw 811207 Karen Barrett 811427
